Sophia Anna Bush was born July 8, 1982, in Pasadena, California as an only child of Charles William Bush (photographer) and Maureen Bush(photography studio runner).She grew up in her hometown and attended a private school named Westridge School for Girls. She made her first on-stage experience at that school as she took parts in some plays they perform.

In 2000 she graduated from High School and was crowned the Queen of the Tournament of Roses at Pasadena Rose Parade. Then she attended the University of Southern California, where she took Journalism major and Theatre minor.

Two years later, in 2002, she made her first appearance on screen – in Van Wilder, where she and Ryan Reynolds had a small scene together. Just a year later, Sophia auditioned for One Tree Hill, where she played Brooke Davis for 9 years. Because of this leading role, she left the University of Southern California after she already spent three years there.

Playing Brooke Davis opened some doors for Sophia, she was asked to appear in Terminator 3 opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nick Stahl but the director deemed her too young for the role and she was soon replaced by actress Clare Danes.

While she spent most of her time on the set of One Tree Hill she started dating her colleague Chad Michael Murray. They got engaged in May 2004 and married on April 16 th, 2005. After 5 month of marriage they split up in September 2005. A year later their divorce became final.

Sophia also began dating John Foster in 2006, and they broke up in 2007. Meanwhile she took parts in Stay Alive,John Tucker must die and The Hitcher. Later, in 2008, Sophias ex-husband confirmed that Sophia and her One Tree Hill colleague James Lafferty are dating.

In that year Sophia played the charakter of Kathy Popovich in The Narrows, and supported Barack Obama in presidential election.

In 2010 she confirmed relationship to One Tree Hill colleague Austin Nichols (they broke up in 2012). They both convinced activists, so they where part of the Run For the Gulf on April 20th, 2010. Sophia is part of many fundraisers, like Do Something, Pencils of Promise, F Cancer and Defend Tomorrow Initiative. For her work at Do Something, Sophia won the Do Something Twitter Award in 2011.

2011 was a big year for all One Tree Hill Fans, on November 16th, the final episode has been completed filming. It aired April 4th, 2012.

Sophia landed the role as Ali Landau in Partners 2012. But after only 6 episodes CBS cancelled the show, and not even all filmed episodes were screened.
