Actress Sophia Bush is set to play host to the Girl Scouts of America next month at a special event to mark the organization’s 100th anniversary.
The One Tree Hill star will head up the Century of the Girl Expo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on April 21st-22nd.
Performers Diggy Simmons and Veronica Ballestrini will take to the stage at the event, and the Girl Scouts will hear inspirational talks from speakers including charity:water founder Scott Harrison and United Nations Vice President of Global Partnerships Elizabeth Gore.
Bush says, “I am honored to host the upcoming Century of the Girl Expo. I hope to enable young girls to harness their unique importance, find their voice and realize the power of YOU.”

Sophia Bush attends the 2012 New Garde Los Angeles event held at Petit Ermitage on Tuesday (March 27) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 29-year-old actress hosted the intimate “girls only” evening sponsored by GenArt and Ciroc Vodka, which featured a presentation of the newest collection by Elkin.
Guests dined on beet salad, salmon, and roast chicken and also enjoyed taking candid pictures with Polaroid cameras throughout the night.
Everyone also drew photos of themselves on a large canvas in honor of I Am That Girl, which “is building a community of girls thinking for ourselves, speaking our truth, and discovering our purpose.”
One day, Sophia Bush, who has starred on The CW’s One Tree Hill for nine seasons, was sitting in the producers’ office when they said, “We have something we need to talk to you about.”
“It was this weird thing where I was like, ‘Why is everyone sitting down? I feel like I’m being called into the principal’s office,’” Bush tells The Hollywood Reporter. But the actress wasn’t in trouble after all. It turns out the producers wanted to ask Bush to direct the penultimate episode of The CW drama, which is finally ending after nine seasons.
“I burst into tears and acknowledged what an amazing honor that was to be trusted with that,” she says.
Bush, who stars as Brooke Davis on the series, has directed several other episodes of the show. She says that directing the second to last episode of the show felt “very poignant.”
“Everything was really important and everything was really valuable,” she says. “Because I knew that it was the last chance that I was going to have to tell these stories and to honor these characters and to really show their relationships. It just felt supremely important.”
